As pointed out in a recent article of the Ostsee Zeitung (see picture), the Stralsund Museum and the IFZO compiled sixty pages of teaching materials on Hiddensee gold jewellery. This was done as part of the school project “Viking Gold – Treasure Finds as Translocal Heritage”. After a test run at the Friedrich Ludwig Jahn Gymnasium in Greifswald, the materials are now also going to be used by teachers in Stralsund. Last Thursday, Klara Fries (IFZO transfer project “Outreach: Mediating Constructions of Heritage and Identity”) introduced the Stralsund teaching staff to the project and the materials, which are now freely available to them.
