The Interdisciplinary Centre for Baltic Sea Region Research (IFZO) examines the history and present as well as future challenges of north-eastern Europe. Its research focuses on the Baltic Sea region: a geographical and political entity characterised by a diversity of cultures and a unique ecosystem, which is also of great geopolitical importance. A more detailed description of our research profile can be found here.
