The IFZO team is seeking to appoint, as of 1 March 2026, a
Student or Research Assistant (Bachelor’s/Master’s level)
for 20 hours per month, to provide administrative support to the management in the establishment of the centre and the implementation of its research activities, in particular through the maintenance and design of IFZO’s social media channels.
IFZO offers an opportunity for independent work closely related to your own studies within an interdisciplinary and international team conducting research in forward-looking fields of the humanities and social sciences. IFZO currently comprises approximately 40 researchers and students at the University of Greifswald.
Your tasks will include:
Managing and developing the content of IFZO’s social media channels (Instagram and Facebook) and supporting the maintenance of the LinkedIn channel,
Creating and publishing posts, stories, and short news items,
Designing simple digital content (images, graphics, banners) and photographing events,
Supporting the media team in communication and public relations activities,
If applicable, assisting in the preparation and organisation of internal events.
Required qualifications:
Very good written and spoken German and English skills,
Experience or strong interest in social media, with a focus on Instagram,
Experience with digital design tools (e.g. Canva) or willingness to learn,
Careful, reliable, and independent working style,
Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team.
Knowledge of university structures and research skills are an advantage. Working hours can be arranged flexibly. The position is initially limited to the project duration until 31 May 2026, but may be extended subject to continued funding. Individual contract durations in line with study planning will be agreed in advance.
