Volume 20 of Forschungen zur baltischen Geschichte has been published. The journal is one of the leading academic publications dedicated to the history of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania, featuring new research spanning the medieval period to the twentieth century.
The latest volume includes contributions on the early history of Tartu, medieval pilgrim badges, marital conflicts in the early modern period, the communist coup attempt in Estonia in 1924, and the Riga-born historian Reinhard Wittram during the Second World War. As in previous volumes, the issue also contains an extensive book review section.
