Workshop on Health Care in the Baltic Sea Region

On 22 March 2023, researchers from Germany, Poland, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia met at the University of Greifswald as an essential element of the research project "Diffusion of Innovations in services of general interest using the example of health care". We exchanged views, perceptions and knowledge about the diffusion of innovations in rural areas of the Baltic Sea Region, in particular in the fields of eHealth and Emergency Medical Services. Based on the experiences of the Baltic Sea countries, we discussed the emergence, diffusion and barriers of health-related innovations in the region. Based on these results we conclude that there is a need and a potential for further collaboration between the Baltic Sea countries in order to improve the speed of adopting innovations in healthcare in order to improve the wellbeing of the population.
